Description
Following the success of the Porsche 924, the Porsche 944 was created with a more distinctive, wider body. The 2.5-litre in-line four-cylinder engine fitted first to the 944 was developed by Porsche, which convinced the critics of the day that it was a real Porsche. The engine is located at the front and the gearbox at the rear, providing an excellent driving experience with very good weight distribution. The wider bodywork further increased the car’s stability. In corners it is quick and predictable, with an engine dynamic enough for a sporty experience. This was demonstrated by the GTR driven by Walter Röhrl and Jürgen Barth finishing 7th overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, beating many much more powerful cars with a reliable and fast car. The present example comes from Luxembourg and is in very nice condition. The engine and gearbox are in excellent working order, the interior is not torn, the white paintwork is very attractive and beautiful, and matches the alloy wheels very well. The enginebay is organised, you can see that it has not been spared on maintenance. With 174,948 kilometres on the clock, anyone who knows the model knows that there are hundreds of thousands of kilometres and many more smiles and twists and turns to come. Intended as a sports car, front-engined Porsches are soaring in value, an excellent investment that will keep you entertained every day. The 944 is a reliable model, so we recommend it for everyday use as well as for weekend pleasure driving and going to meetings.
