In 1982, Mercedes-Benz introduced the 190, also known as the “Baby Benz.” A record amount of 2.3 billion German marks was spent on its development and research. Built with safety principles in mind, it featured programmed crumple zones and a reinforced passenger cell with up to two airbags.

For the suspension, 40 different variations were developed to find the perfect solution, ultimately choosing the five-link independent suspension at the rear, with anti-roll bars both front and rear. Essentially, this suspension design has been used by all luxury cars since.

Quality materials and durable solutions were chosen for every structural unit, introducing the famous Mercedes concept of “over-engineering,” particularly characteristic of Mercedes models designed in the 1980s.

With the 190, Mercedes also aimed to appeal to younger drivers, and indeed, its lightweight body and excellent road handling offered a notably sporty driving experience. The 2-liter engine pulls well even at low revs, providing dynamic and smooth acceleration, making it enjoyable to drive at any RPM. Its unparalleled suspension also ensures convincing road holding even at highway speeds.

Aesthetically, the car is in excellent condition both inside and out. The paint is uniform and in good shape, and the interior features the classic grey checkered pattern with no sagging upholstery elements; everything works perfectly. The electric sunroof is a delightful feature on sunny days.

The model’s value is expected to increase significantly, with prices continuously rising dynamically.
