The W111 Mercedes was manufactured between 1959 and 1971, which included a 4-door saloons and a 2-door coupes and convertibles. Its body was easily recognizable by the fins, which is why it was given the nickname Heckflosse, which is the fintale in German.

The design of the two-door Pontom began in 1957, with most of the chassis and drivetrain components identical to the four-door versions, so the focus was on the body. Mercedes has decided to opt for a much more square rear design compared to the saloon version. Production began in 1960, the coupe version was unveiled at the 75th anniversary of the Mercedes Musem in Stuttgart, the convertible a few months after at the Frankfurt car show.

The last model was introduced in 1969, the first post-war Mercedes model to receive an engine with a displacement of more than 3 liters. It is a brand new 3499ccm V8 unit capable of delivering 200 horsepower at 5800 rpm and reaching a top speed of 205km / h. It received many innovations, including a larger grille, which, contrary to belief, was not needed to provide adequate cooling for the larger V8 unit.

The specimen offered for sale by Veterán Autó Kft. Has a very nicely renovated special combination of exterior and interior colors. The body is free of all kinds of corrosion, the gold finish is nice uniform, the chrome accessories are flawless, the original alloy wheels seem to be new. The interior’s green leather seats and carpet create a wonderful harmony with the color of the body. Its wooden inserts are scratch-free and of course all the switches and electrical equipment work as intended.
